Verdict in long-running medical tribunal of Dr Richard Freeman delayed again

The long-running medical tribunal of former Team Sky and British Cycling doctor Richard Freeman has been hit by yet another delay.

A verdict in the fitness-to-practise hearing had been due on Tuesday — two years after it was originally scheduled to conclude.

But the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service said further time is required, with a verdict now expected on March 12. 

Freeman, 61, has admitted ordering banned testosterone to the Manchester Velodrome headquarters of both teams in May 2011, but denies placing the order ‘knowing or believing’ it was to be used to dope a rider.
