Sheffield Wednesday have appointed Darren Moore as their new manager.
Moore left his role at League One Doncaster Rovers to take over at Hillsborough, with the news confirmed early on Monday morning.
Moore has an impressive average of more than 1.5 points per game across three divisions consisting of the Premier League and Championship with West Brom, then most recently in League One with Doncaster.
Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the appointment of Darren Moore as their new manager
He leaves his previous club in a comfortable promotion position. Moore’s challenge in the short term is to keep Wednesday in the Championship.
Moore will now be in charge of the Owls’ Championship clash with Rotherham at Hillsborough on Wednesday.
Moore had emerged as a contender for the vacant Sheffield Wednesday job in the middle of January after Tony Pulis had been sacked after just 10 matches at the end of last year.
Neil Thompson was placed in caretaker charge following Pulis’ dismissal but a run of four consecutive defeats in the second division has led to Moore’s appointment.
