The 24-hour industrial action is expected to impact Crown Post Offices, which are usually the larger branches on busier high streets.

Last month, Communication Workers Union members working in administrative and supply chain roles also walked out.

Though many sites will remain open, customers are urged to contact their local branches to find out whether they are operating.

Parcels and letters will still be able to be sent as normal from sub post-offices and WH Smith stores, it is anticipated.
