My rock Seb whisked me out for a perfect hour together as we swallowed our tears, says Deborah James

Last Monday, she shared a heartbreaking Instagram post saying she was now receiving end-of-life care at her parents’ home in Woking, Surrey, because the heroic efforts of her team of medics at The Royal Marsden Hospital in South West London were now fruitless. Over the last eight years, Deborah has spearheaded campaigns for bowel cancer, helping to raise awareness of the condition.

Since her diagnosis in 2016, Deborah has captured the nation with her bowel cancer journey[/caption] She today added that she had been ‘blown away’ by the response of the launch and the number of people who had ordered it. Posting to Instagram, she said: “Seb whisked me (bit of a mission but worth it!) at the crack of dawn to @rhswisley before all the crowds, to say well done for the book launch, and it was just perfect for an hour. Her trip out marks a celebration of her new book reaching No1 on Amazon.

Since then she has raised more than £6million for Cancer Research and has also released a book – which she previously highlighted had been top of the list when sorting out her ‘death admin’.
