AN event organizer has shared the seven things she keeps in her home to instantly make guests more comfortable when she hosts.
TikToker Juliet, whose username is @happy_dagger, shared the tips to prepare her home for guests in a viral video.
“i love having my friends over so much so im trying to be the best host possible so they keep coming,” Juliet wrote in the video’s caption.
She has friends with different needs, including those who are neurodivergent and have ADHD or autism.
So in order to make all of her friends feel safe and welcomed, she has several items at the ready.
First, she likes to make sure that everyone has something to occupy their hands.

Juliet has a “fidget toy basket” filled with different items, including stuffed animals and squishy stress handhelds.
She says this helps her guests feel less awkward and helps ground them.
This is something Juliet says her therapist had, and it tends to work well among her friends.
“There’s enough that everyone finds one and no one ever fights over toys,” Juliet says.

Juliet also keeps a group sketch book and a pen cup on her coffee table for her artist friends.
She says it’s a fun thing but it’s also a way to “trick them into drawing things that I get to keep.”
In addition, she keeps two coffee table books out to facilitate conversation, including a book of animal photos.
“I love this book and I think it’s really fun to flip through together,” she says.
“There’s so much to see and talk about.”
Juliet also keeps a fully stocked cookie tin.
She also adds a savory snack when guests arrive so all of the bases are covered.
The host also offers her guests a drink right away to eliminate the anxiety of them having to ask for one later on.
“Having multiple different kinds of seating options available is important for neurodivergent friends,” Juliet continues.
She says that most of her friends like to sit on the floor so she has special cushions available.
She also has a felt-covered yoga ball which, she says, is a big hit among her friends, calling it “a full body fidget toy.”
Juliet does not have a television in her living room, as she finds it can be distracting to her friends.
“My friends can’t really sit still and quiet in a group setting long enough to watch a film in its entirety,” she says, adding that if they want to watch a film, they’ll go to a movie theater.
Juliet also has a selection of games at the ready.
“Sometimes I’ll need to set up a game in another room to make people feel comfortable,” she says.
The final step Juliet takes when preparing to entertain is setting up a high quality speaker.
In taking these steps, Juliet says it’s like a game where “the prize is community” because people feel welcomed and comfortable.
